Fatin Farhat is a PhD researcher in cultural policy (University of Hildesheim). Fatin has a long and intensive experience in cultural development, policy and in the management of cultural and artistic programs and has previously served as the director of the culture department at the Ramallah municipality. During her directorship, Ramallah was given special recognition by the UCLG city award, 2013. She has actively contributed to the development and establishment of numerous cultural initiatives and centres in Palestine and in the South Med region. Fatin been involved in a series of cultural research, mapping and evaluation projects and interventions with the Young Arab Theatre Fund and the European Cultural Foundation, IETM, Danish Center for Culture and Development, UNESCO, the Drosos Foundation, Med Culture and the Palestine Ministry of Culture. She serves as a member of the Expert Facility for the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions(2015-2018, 2019-2022). Fatin was recently selected by the Prince Claus, the European Cultural Foundation and Hivos to carry out a case-based research during a one-year period (2019) to analyse the impact of an artistic production or a cultural project in its specific geographic, social, and cultural context.
